Privacy policy
Most of what passes through BookMyProof is unpublished. This page says what we hold, who touches it, and how long it lasts. Last updated August 2026. For the technical detail, see security.
Who we are
BookMyProof provides audiobook proofing software at bookmyproof.com. For the material you upload, you are the data controller and we are your processor. Contact: support@bookmyproof.com.
What we collect
- Account details. Your name, email and a hashed password. We never store the password itself.
- What you upload. Manuscripts and audio, plus the transcripts and findings produced from them.
- Usage. Hours processed, so we can meter your plan, and an access record of exports and deletions.
- Payment. Handled by Stripe. Card numbers never reach our servers.
Why we are allowed to
We process your material to perform the contract you have with us, and we keep basic usage records because we have a legitimate interest in billing correctly and keeping the service secure. We do not run advertising profiles and we do not sell anything to anyone.
Who else touches it
That list is the whole list. If it changes we will update this page and tell account holders.
How long we keep things
You choose how long we hold audio: 7, 14, 30 or 90 days, or until you delete it. Findings and reports are kept while your account is open, because they are the thing you paid for. Delete a book and its manuscript, audio, transcripts and findings go with it. Close your account and we remove your data within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax purposes.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we handle it. Most of this you can do yourself in the app. For anything else, write to us and we will respond within 30 days. If we get it wrong you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Cookies
